HEALTH ACCORD

The Health Accord provides the basis for moving the discussions on public health care and increasing the amount of the Canada Health Transfer from the feds to the provinces.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IN DYING

It’s such an emotional question that we are bound to have people who feel very strongly at both ends. We’re bound to have people at both ends of the spectrum on this. … But I think we’re in a place that is a very good place to start with this difficult question.

OPIOID CRISIS

My sympathies lie with the doctors who have to deal with that without the training that those who have taken interest in addictions have had the benefit of. It’s a difficult file and we really need to have a lot more education, as well as some of the top-down regulation that the college has been providing.

COLLABORATION IN HEALTH CARE

Our leadership needs to come as a group, as a profession, and it needs to lead toward the collaboration of all sectors of society to speak out to advance our application of health care.
